The problem is the fanbase thinks that one transfer window & we should be back contending for titles. We need to be realistic- even with a EL win & CL next year we should be targetin     See More - aim for a European place & possibly the final CL place next season. This summer even with CL football next year we are making 5 signings max and none of them are going to be massive money. The positions we need big improvement in are GK, RWB, CM, AM & ST.

GK- We owe Inter £26m still for Onana & we ain’t getting that. Would love to see Elyh Harrison given a go in the league if we go out the EL- got a big reputation and would be nice to promote from within- even if it’s a stop gap for a season or two. If his level isn’t that much lower he will only get better and if we are out of Europe he’s got a free hit for a few games.

RWB- Yes we have Amad but when he’s injured or unavailable we need someone else. Dalot is a top pro but he’s not a WB & this formation is hampered playing a FB at WB. You see Dorgu on the other side closing high and then getting all the way back- Dalot doesn’t & it leads to teams being able to play out too easy.

CM- Ugarte does one role really well from the two deeper midfielders but he needs someone alongside him who can get the ball forwards quickly but still have the legs to get up and down. Mainoo is learning the role & has the attributes but we need someone in there with a passing range. We see how Bruno passes from this position- imagine if he had a decent ST with two decent AM’s.

AM- United need Bruno here creating chances & I think Mount can also do a job here if fit. But they need more, they need someone else to take the pressure of Bruno. Garnacho is a winger & will score because he takes so many shots but in this role you need to be able to create & score- Cunha is a great fit, Rashford is too.

ST- Hojlund has a big end to the season to save his career. Zirkzee offers something different but United need someone capable of holding the ball and getting in behind. Delap is an option, Rashford is also showing he can play there keeping Watkins on the bench.

If United can bring one player in (or back) for each of those positions they should be competing from 4th-8th next year.    See Less
