But the tactical analysis of getting the ball wide, sending in cross after cross and through ball after through ball but leaving themselves open to the counter attack is a very fair assessment and one of the reasons for so many draws after conceding late counter attack goals. And he's not wrong that the money spent on players has given them a foundational floor of "average" championship players that give them a nice floor in the league and that they probably need a few more high end signings if they want to push for promotion and not just hope for maybe making the playoffs. That's all very fair assessment. But they talk about the money spent on players but don't talk about that it's Net spending and not necessarily more than other clubs who are able to make money off of their outgoing transfers, or the time it takes for them to gel together for a new club in a new league with a manager who has only 3-4 players to rely on from the previous year. Through in the injuries particularly to the wingbacks, and sitting in 10th and 4 points out of the playoffs is a perfect place for them to be at the turn of the new year.    See Less

These "analysts" seriously need to actually watch the squad from 1st game to most present. Understand who remained in the squad from League 2 - present. Understsnd who was added     See More mer. And understand the progression of the squad through the Coventry game this season, the injuries that subsequently occurred, and the current change in formation to now overcome those injuries. Finally, understand the fanbase. Nobody expected immediate promotion. For most fans, mid-table is fully acceptable. Hell, avoiding relegation is acceptable. But, as in other seasons, Parky and the lads are raising fans hopes. And that's ok. Playoffs would exceed almost everyone's ecpectations. And given this table - if they get there - why not hope for a sluggers chance? Finally, actually do an analysis of this Club's player valuation and wages. Yes, they spent 30M, they also had no set offs with player trades. They also have a huge 33 player squad. Why? Because they didnt kick their legends to the curb. Heck, they're still paying part of Mullins salary. The owners are invested in making sure the prior players are kept close to continue to enjoy the Club's success. THAT'S messaging for recruitment and retention. Go actually talk to Foster, Palmer, Tozer, and the others about how they feel regarding the owners and the Club. They love them. Back to player expenditure. Wrexham sits at 13th on total player cost at 57M in the Championship, this includes the vaunted 30M. They are between 11th and 14th on wages depending on whether you include salaries being paid to players not on the roster. Now, go look at the valuations of the Clubs ahead of them on the table and then comment on how much money has been spent on the squad. The players actually on the squad are certainly playing well above their heads taking into account the dead weight added to player cost. Finally, yes, given Wrexham's revenue turnover they will have plenty of cash to continue to level the playing field with those on the table ahead of them over the next 2 windows in both valuation and wages. Certainly opposing fans and league analysts don't expect Wrexham to try and not win, right? With added potential strength at midfield and on the wings - after the transfer window - yes - fans are going to be very excited to see how this season end. Wrexham can`t do much about Transfers being in the red already this season on that front and the owners wanting it to be sustainable. they do need a stabilizing player in their center though     See More can bring a bit more order to their game. securing somene like that in the january window however would be really difficult.    See Less
