Ramsdele was outstanding last season, why is he being judged now after one mistake that he made ?? He came back to make 2 stunning saves in the 2nd half which kept Arsenal in the game. Oh boy.. The philosophy about the game is the continuous support of the players regardless of their form. Within our squad we got players who needed time, and they suddenly change their game of play. No player is bad, no player prepared to come in and spoil the show. Buy winning title doesn't allow such mistakes from any player, agreed 👌
They'll be no debate next season. Ramsdale is not a number 2 goalkeeper, he'll want to move on. It'll be sad to see him go, he loves the club and the supporters love him as a person but Raya will be no 1 for the forseeable future. The debate next season will be.....who's Raya's backup.
Toney's shot was poor positioning by Ramsdale and the header is because Ramsdale does not know how to claim crosses, Raya would not have had to make the stop because he would have claimed the cross and would have started a counterattack that is the difference but what is most annoying is that if Raya would have had this mistake, this channel would have destroyed Raya and Arteta by asking Ramsdale as the starter and it is not that I want them to destroy Ramsdale but rather that they maintain the same energy the day another player who is not English makes a mistake
If we could combine Raya’s distribution, sweeper play and catching abilities, with Ramsdale’s positioning, reach and shot stopping abilities, we’d have the best keeper in the World ! 😆
Personal opinion but I’m nearly not as scared when Raya is on the ball as compared to ramsdale. The same with crosses and corners. Plus I also have a theory where i think ramsdales positioning being not the greatest leading to him having to make flashier saves compared to what another accomplished keeper would have done. This is not about last game but ramsdales time with arsenal as a whole. I also think our defenders are a lot more trusting of raya to handle the ball in tough situations than ramsdale. I just got the feeling when gabriel hoofed the ball clear once while getting pressed where if raya was in goal, he might have passed back
Of course, it’s been about his character & his previous performances & his heart. Brentford was psychologically a big game, going top, staying in the race, taking advantage of direct competition playing each other & having not played a league game since September & being expected to perform instantly at the highest level without even a sub appearance under your belt
Ramsdale is not as composed as Raya and this is vital in our style of play. Raya recycles the ball in the buildup and his composure passing from the back has been vital in some goals we've scored in recent weeks. Plus the composure the buildup rubs of on the other defenders.
Let's look at the goal he conceded. He simply needed to pass to Saliba who free and that would have beat the press and led to a swift attack. Other times in the game, he was booting in under pressure.
In the transition to an elite team playing the way we do, a composed goalkeeper must be part of the mix. Raya fits this role better than Ramsdale
Robbie due I suspect to his personal relationship with Ramsdale and his family has essentially ‘badgered’ everyone into a pro Ramsdale stance and best example is poor James…😊

Raya is riddled with mistakes! Especially under similar circumstances as Ramsdale when he hasn't played much, he's a complete nervous wreck!
Ramsdale is a much better shot stopper (proven again yesterday) and a much better distributor of the ball (proven again yesterday).
I don't even blame him that much for the goal. I give credit to Wissa instead. That could've happened to any goalie.
Let's give Ramsdale a run of games like Raya has had, and then randomly stick Raya in a must win match. I guarantee he'll cost us goals!
