Nowadays I'm skipping those games deliberately,.I came to realize Arsenal loses almost every match I watch, so I decided to only be peeing at the results online at half time, then maybe watch the last 5 minutes of the game happily when I'm certainly sure of a win. This is the sacrifice I'm making though with a heavy heart, and so far so good results are worth it. I thank God!
You can reschedule a date, YOU can't do that with a game. I chamged plans for arsenal vs Leicester on v day 2016. Tangled it was an early ko. Bit depends how imprudent game is, I've missed plenty, & some great games, for mates bday, or a afternoon party with friends, dinners etc. If it's wc final then no, only a bday trumps a final
I respect the passion and dedication but you have to be reasonable! It will ruin any potential relationship if you are going to watch football almost everyday these days especially with all the fixture congestion from different competitions.
